Introducing Blue and Ozzy: The Adorable Siamese Kittens Who Found a New Home

Gorgeous felines from all corners of the globe end up in shelters for a variety of reasons, none of which are their fault. Unfortunately, not all of these cats are fortunate enough to find their forever homes. However, the story of two magnificent Seal Point Siamese cats from Sea Point, Western Cape, South Africa is proof that purebred cats can, in fact, be adopted from shelters. So, if you have your heart set on a particular breed but also want to do your part by adopting a cat, don’t hesitate to contact your local shelter or a rescue organization dedicated to that specific breed. You never know, you may just hit the jackpot!

Can you tell us about how Blue and Ozzy became a part of your life?
Well, I adopted Blue from the Cape of Good Hope SPCA back in February of 2019. He was only five months old at the time and had been surrendered due to having snuffles. After being isolated, he was finally released when I met him and immediately fell for him – his stunning eyes being a major factor. As for Ozzy, I’m afraid he wasn’t rescued or adopted but I can tell you all about my furry little friend Blue!

Around 9 months after my first rescue siamese, I noticed that he appeared lonely and a little down. This prompted me to start searching for another rescue siamese to keep him company. However, it was no easy feat finding one in my area. Fortunately, I stumbled upon Capetonians Against Animal Abuse, an organization that does tremendous work with cats and kittens. They sent me pictures of Ozzy, and I immediately fell in love with him. In December of 2019, I went to collect him. Ozzy got his name from his wild child demeanor, and he’s so cross-eyed that it’s a wonder he can see anything at all! He was just a baby when I brought him home.

Can you describe their relationship with each other?
Their relationship could be described as tolerable. They do not have the strong friendship that I had hoped for and often engage in playful bullying of one another. Jealousy is also present between them, but thankfully, they do not get into many physical altercations.

What are their personalities like?
Blue embodies the classic feline personality, with a regal air and an aloof demeanor. Although he is affectionate towards others, he seems to have a special dislike for me. He is calm and collected, preferring to take a backseat and observe rather than actively participate.

On the other hand, Ozzy is a lovable ball of fur that loves nothing more than cuddles and food. He craves attention and has a playful nature, often jumping around without a care in the world. However, he may not be the brightest bulb in the box.
