Hazelnut was a small dog that came to me in a terrible condition. He was emaciated and neglected by his owner for a long time. As I looked at him, I could not help but feel angry and sad at the same time. There was no reason for an owner to leave their dog in such a state. But I tried to control my anger and sometimes sympathize with Hazelnut. He needed my help and care, not my anger and frustration. All tests showed that he was suffering from parvo virus disease, a serious condition that required immediate treatment.
We are talking about the best course of action and decided to take him to the operating room. In addition, we also decided to use acupuncture as a long-term pain relief treatment. However, due to the delayed treatment, his muscles didn’t respond well to the electric current, and we needed to combine it with physical therapy. Hazelnut’s recovery was slow and difficult. He couldn’t get up or walk, and his owner never came back to visit him. It was heartbreaking to see his sad expression every day, but he didn’t give up. He tried to become better every day, eating regularly and supplementing his diet with healthy nutrients. We did acupuncture daily and soon Hazelnut started responding well to the treatment. Although his recovery was beyond my imagination, Hazelnut still couldn’t walk normally. He needed a stretcher and physical therapy to get him moving. But his desire to walk was strong, so we kept trying until he could take steps on his own. It was a slow and endless process, but he never gave up.
I had the opportunity to witness a beautiful moment when I helped my friend Hazeunt with his leg injury while swimming. It was a breakthrough for him, and it happened at a beach resort. He gained weight and was cared for by a professional trainer, along with other disabled dogs. His resilience and determination were admirable, and I cheered him on whenever he achieved something. Hazeunt’s recent battle with grief and illness didn’t deter his happiness, vitality, and peaceful nature. He was one of the most resilient dogs I have ever seen, and his story is a testament to the power of love and care. Reflecting on Hazeunt’s journey, I realized that all the surgery, post-operative care, nutrition, and treatment were important, but they were not as vital as his will to live. Hazeunt had a strong desire to live, and he fought every day to make that happen. His story serves as a reminder that love is the current of life. It is love and care that keep animals like Hazeunt alive and thriving despite their disabilities. Although his journey wasn’t easy, his resilience and determination made it worthwhile.
It is important to remember that the story of this dog’s suffering is not an isolated incident. All animals are deserving of and require similar care and attention to prevent neglect and abandonment. By supporting animal welfare organizations, advocating for stronger animal protection laws, and promoting adoption and responsible pet ownership, we can collectively work towards a world where no animal is left to endure such pain and suffering. Let us honor the memory of this neglected dog by showing love, compassion, and empathy towards all living beings.
