The Pallas’ cat, which is also known as the Manul cat, is a type of wild cat that can be found in Central Asia. One of their most distinctive features is their round pupils, short legs, and wide-set ears that give them an amusing appearance. In fact, their scientific name Otocolobus means ‘ugly-eared,’ which further adds to their rather grumpy look. Despite their cute and fluffy exterior, they’re quite similar in size and weight to regular domestic cats. These cats prefer living in high altitudes up to 15,000ft and are particularly well-suited to colder climates. However, due to their relatively poor running ability, they tend to hide in crevasses under large rocks when faced with danger. While their adorable expressions may make them seem like great pets, their natural solitary and wild nature means that they’re primarily found in professional zoos, as they have a high mortality rate at lower altitudes.
