It’s hard to believe that this pooch is blind. The incident took place three years back when a lady was strolling by a park in Mexico, close to her residence. She stumbled upon a heart-wrenching sight – a deserted dog standing near a chain-link fence, shivering and alone. What made the situation even more distressing was the fact that the dog had been left behind to survive in a world that she couldn’t see.
Upon closer inspection, it became apparent that the canine in question was lacking the organs known as eyes.
After a woman spotted an abandoned dog, she sought help on social media since she couldn’t take the dog home. Mauricio Perez saw the post and decided to help. When he found the dog, he realized how malnourished it was as the bones were visible. Despite that, Perez didn’t hesitate to take the poor dog home and care for it. He and his girlfriend bathed the dog and took it to a vet, who diagnosed that the dog wasn’t born without eyes. Instead, something must have happened to the dog in the past, like an untreated infection or injury. Perez speculated that the dog’s former owners had mistreated it, but he couldn’t confirm it. Even though Perez couldn’t restore the dog’s sight, he was determined to do everything he could to lift its spirits.
Perez decided to call the dog Concha and started gaining her trust. He mentioned that it took some time and effort since they wanted her to feel secure and comfortable. They would pet her daily until she gradually began to release her apprehension.
Gradually, with the passage of time, Concha’s shyness diminished and in its place came a sense of ease and reliance. The radiance of affection had successfully penetrated the obscurity of Concha’s life.
When Concha first moved into her new home, Perez put a “halo” device on her to keep her from bumping into things. However, she quickly adapted and was able to move around the house without it.
According to Perez, Concha is a smart dog who has memorized the location of every door and piece of furniture in the house. Despite being blind, she can easily locate her food and water bowls. Perez admires Concha’s intelligence, which is not apparent from her lack of eyesight. Concha also loves spending time with people and seeks out affection whenever possible.
Concha had been left to fend for herself for three years, but Perez’s love and attention have transformed her into someone nearly unrecognizable from her previous state.
According to Perez, she’s doing great – feeling content and in good health.
