A stray cat managed to keep her litter of kittens safe and well-fed, even though she didn’t have any food for herself. Despite being in a difficult situation and not having anyone to care for her in the neighborhood where she and her kittens were found, the mother cat used all the resources available to her to ensure the safety and well-being of her offspring. When the animal rescue organization CatRescue 901 in Terrey Hills, New South Wales, Australia learned of their plight, they came to their aid.
At first, the mom cat maintained a certain level of distance from her caregiver. Whenever the mother was present, she only attended to her kittens. Jenny explained that this behavior was due to the mother’s past experiences of living on the streets where feral cats were mistreated. These experiences had caused her to lose trust in humans and become less confident.
As time passes, the feline is getting more attached to its owner. This is probably due to the fact that it’s been well-fed, provided with comfort and showered with affection. The cat has transformed into a confident and agreeable companion.
Upon their arrival at the rescue shelter, the kittens were severely undernourished. But thanks to the abundant supply of food, they are now gradually gaining weight and building up their muscles. It’s truly remarkable how the mother cat was able to keep all her offspring alive despite living on the streets with scarce sources of food.
According to Jenny, the kittens are currently under the care of a highly skilled caretaker who has worked with many sickly kittens in the past.
